Control

Today I find I have to keep reminding myself that I am not in control.  As a person who likes to plan I feel a little lost not knowing exactly when you are going to come.  And so I keep over-planning little things like sub-notes and yearbook details in a silly attempt to be in-control of the situation.  And although it is always a good idea to plan, I must stop and remind myself who is really in control.  No it is not you either, although you may think you are in control.  It is God.  And he knows all.  And he is good.  God is in charge of the moment you arrive, he will know when you are ready and he will send you.  He will know when your dad and I are ready and he will send you.  God has a plan.  It is better then my plan for 2 reasons, 1 God knows all so his plan is always better planed out and more complete and 2 God's has the ability to put his plan into motion even when I do not have control over my own plans.  This is as much a reminder to me as it is to you.  God is good, and God is in-control. ”A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)  If my heart had it's way you would be here today or tomorrow, for sure by the end of the week.  But it is not up to me, God will direct your steps, he will bring you in time.  I must be content to trust God and wait.

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:4,7)
