Happy 90th Grandpa Ed
Tomorrow is your Great-Grandpa Ed's 90th birthday. So we all went to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Jim's house today to have cake and ice-cream.
You loved the balloons.
You and Great-Grandpa
Grandpa and Great-Grandpa
Great Grandpa today was a lot more like when I was younger then he since before Grandma Audrey passed away. He was happy and funny and reminded me of the man I remember from my childhood. My fondest memories of Grandpa Ed are from fishing and racing go-carts. He is the one who told me to always kiss your bait (it helps you catch a bigger fish) and that it is ok to bump on the go-carts as long as you only bump family. Happy Birthday Grandpa We Love you.

Finished
When Grandpa Don (Papa) passed away we wanted to find something Grandma could do to stay busy so Aunt Cheryl, Abby and I taught her to knit. Then when Grandma passed I was given a lot of her old yarn. So I knit each of the aunts a Christmas ornament, Kelly and Mom each got scarf and Kate got a hat (from a pattern Gram had downloaded.) Finally I made some blankets for Project Warmth (A group connected to Warm up America, knitting projects), they give blankets to kids is foster care. When all that was done I started a sock monkey for you and today I finally got it done. I am going to tuck it away and give it to you for your first birthday but I let you play with it for just a little bit today first. The dark and light brown were both Grandma's yarn so you will have something from her.

First Words
So I am sure you do not know what any of it means but it has been excciting this week to hear you babble some words. I the past all your really said was ba, and wa, but this week it seems mama and dada both added into your vocabulary all at once. So exciting. I wonder how long until the mean something to you and it is not just random babbleing.
Just some day remember

Not the best photo still figuring out the new ipad from school.

Transitions
I feel
like I just get a handle on something with you and then poof, you have
grown and everything changes again. Another transition, a new phase and
again everything changes. I finally felt like I had mastered baby food
to be told that now we should start transitioning you to table food, so
for a week or so you have been eating both but tonight for the first
time ever I didn't heat you any baby food for dinner, instead you ate
spaghetti and meatballs for dinner just like mom and dad only cut up a
lot smaller. It seems like you are too little for this already, but I
guess you will always seem littler and younger to me then you are, you
will always be my little baby even as you grow up fast.
P.S. I love that you are getting ticklish.

Ice Scluptures and Fishy
Ok so the two things don't really fit together in the title but today we
went downtown Holland with Aunt Kate to see the ice sculptures being
carved in Holland and then we went to Kate's house to see her new fish
tank and what can I say except we had Fishy envy so we got a Beta,
because it doesn't need much we will see if when Jackie can talk if she
asks for more fish if we ever get a real fish tank but this little red
guy is fun for now.
Jackie in her cute little hat, watching the ice sculpture carving.
Jacqueline pointing out her new fish
Really I think if she had her way we would now own a turtle they were by far her favorite thing at the fish store but for now this little guy will have to do.

9 month photo
A few days early for the nine month photo but I really wanted to do this photo in the snow and we have not had a lot of snow so I thought we should take advantage of what did fall and take a photo before it melted.
New Year New Tricks
It is hard to believe that you were not here last new year. I sometimes have trouble remembering what life was like with out you. You rang in this New Year in my arms, somebodies fire works woke you up. Otherwise we all were asleep before 10pm. Which I guess goes to show how much you have changed everything.
Your favorite new trick is standing all by yourself. You are getting braver taking one hand off at at time and slowly beginning to cruse your way along furniture. Parts of the house have been baby proofed and a new gate is on it's way. But we will see how long it takes to go from standing on your own to walking on your own.
Hanging out with Kate, Andrea and Kirsten at Ross's New Year Party. It was so nice he could come home to visit.
