Little Things

School started this week at both ZCS and GVSU so it has been busy and I have been gone a lot, but it is good.  I think that getting out of the house a little makes me appreciate the days I am home even more.  Sometimes in the summer I get so busy with laundry, cleaning and diapers, that I forget to stop and enjoy the little moments.  So I thought I would share some silly little things that made me smile today:

• I love the way Jackie holds Grace's hand any chance she can
• the way Grace giggles when Jackie dances around her
• how Grace picks up objects and investigates with her hands and her toes
• how Jackie dances to any music even commercial jingles
• Jackie's big bear hugs
• the way Grace smiles with her eyes
• no matter how many books I read Jackie always asks for one more
• hearing Jackie say "i yke it" or "one mor time"

Peach and Rasberry Picking

Today we went peach picking with Grandma, Grandpa, Kate and Kelly

The peaches were gigantic, sweet and juicy.  Jackie had a lot of fun looking for big ones.

Picking peaches goes too fast so we went to pick a few raspberries too. 

Just like picking blueberries I think Jacqueline ate more than she picked.

Both girls loved the peaches, I have already made some peach and some peach/raspberry sauce and canned it so we can have peaches later this winter too.

And what trip to a farm would be complete without a ride on a tractor.

Then this afternoon we played with Austin and Ava so it was a busy but very fun day.

Big Girl (Sofia)

Jackie's days of diapers have been over for a few weeks now and yesterday she earned enough stickers for her big prize a trip to build a bear.  She could not be more thrilled with her pink Disney princess bear, complete with a Rapunzel dress, crown and high healed shoes. Jacqueline named her Ariel, but has now changed her mind and renamed her Sofia, after Disney's Sofia the first.

Grace 6 month stats

Weight 17 lbs (right around 50%)
Height 28.5 inches (That's almost 2 inches taller then Jackie was at 6 months and she was tall.)

Grace is so tall that she is over the top of the 99% curve on the chart.  We saw a different doctor at our office today and she originally thought Grace was there for 9 month based on her size, she told me she had to double check the cart, Grace just seemed too tall to only be 6 months old. All of that just makes me understand why I feel like we are going through clothes so fast and why we are already wearing 12 month pjs.

I haven't been posting a lot so I thought I should include a Jackie picture too, this at the fountains at Metro hospital.  Every Thursday we head there for the farmer's market and then go to Frog Hollow to play.

At 6 months old Grace, your favorite game is peek-a-boo, your favorite toy is a probably your bunny but really you like anything you can chew on.  Your favorite food is either peaches or apples, (I can not wait to take you apple picking.)  You are a pro at rolling over and can sit up for brief moments unassisted.  You really are not a paci fan except at bedtime. Your favorite rhyme is leg over leg because you like to flip over.  In general you like to rough house more then your sister.  I love you Grace.  It's hard for me to believe it has been 6 months already.

Blueberry picking with Aunt Kate and Aunt Kelly this week

 For the first time today I saw Grace roll her self up into a seated position, very quickly she
slumped down and rolled back to her back again but it was still fun to she her hit this milestone today.  It feels like she is growing up so fast it is hard to keep tabs on what she is doing.

And this little princess is pretty much diaper free.  (I have decided even though she typically wakes up from naps and bedtime dry we will hold off a little while on no diapers there.)  During the days she has been doing great!  I am so proud of her.
