Strawberries

This was not your first time eating strawberries but normally you like them cut up and stabbed with a fork.  Not today, the sliced strawberries held no appeal for you you wanted the whole berry.

You were thrilled to have that the whole strawberries to eat. Although you did once make the mistake of trying to eat the green part but only once and that came back out of your mouth fast.

Even though you loved them you were willing to share.

I think we will be buying a lot more strawberries before the season is over.

New Words

I just love the smile in this photo so we had to start with this.

So this little cutie is beginning to get a few more words in addition to mama and dada, we have been hearing up and hop for a while now, but new to your vocabulary this week is eat and day.  I am not sure why those words over anything else but it is still fun to hear you talk more and more.  Sometimes it is still a little tricky to figure out just what you are saying, a lot of words sounds similar.  I am sure that this is not the only time you and I will struggle to communicate effectively but I want you to know no matter what you say I will always love you and I will always try to understand what you mean.  And even when I don't understand God will.
Psalm 139:4
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.

I pray that as you learn more and more words and as you continue to grow we are able to teach you to use your words to praise the Lord.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I think this photo says "me...I didn't do it"

Congratulations Karly!

My cousin Karly's Graduation open house was yesterday.  It's hard for me to believe she is that old,   remember the day she was born, how excited and proud Grandma Jackie was.  That doesn't seem long enough ago for Karly to be headed off to college. (Karly if you read this, know that Grandpa and Grandma are watching from heaven and they are so proud of you.  They would be thrilled with your decision to head off to cornerstone and Grandma would have loved your party.) Karly's open house was a lot of fun especially because Karly babysits for the a couple of families we know who have kids right around Jacqueline's age so there were lots of kids to watch and play with, and what's not to love about a luau themed party with root-beer floats.

Playing the bean bag game outside on the lawn.  All the kids had a lot of fun.

Aunt Sue and Baby Ava.

Kelly had her hands full with these two.

It was a lot of fun.  But Jacqueline really wanted to go swimming in the creek, thankfully Grandma kept her on the bridge.

Working and Playing Hard

Jacqueline helped me clean the front windows and screens yesterday.  She is such and outdoor girl.  When it is raining or cold she stares out the windows and just can not help getting hand prints all over them.  So it seemed like a nice day to get them clean so we could see out them again.

After a little work it was time to play.  This was her first time playing with chalk.  She liked the drawing but...

What she really liked was painting with water.  She loved making the chalk drawings disappear like magic.  In addition to painting the ground with water she painted herself too and what could be more fun then being covered in water.

My little artist.

Busy Weekend

Helping Daddy work on the outside.

Family Photos with Lynette Bell on Mother's Day.

I am sure she has better shots than what I got on my camera, I can not wait to see them all.

Jacqueline was sort of a stinker for Lynette, she just wanted to play and did not want to smile for photos.

Today all smiles again.

Chasing Ducks

Chasing Ducks.  You seem so close and yet anytime you got close enough to touch the duck it quickly scooted away.  Fun to watch, frustrating for you.  But life will be this way sometimes.  Things can seem like they are just out of reach, and it can be frustrating, but know that no matter what you have God and you don't have to chase him, he is always at your side.

I could not help but include these pictures of you eating corn on the cob, just too cute.

Tulip Time

Oma and Grandma Downtown for Tulip Time

Jacqueline in the dutch dance costume that Oma made for her.

Jacqueline and Oma enjoying the parade/

Just Dancing.

It was a fun day to go and enjoy Tulip Time, perfect weather sunny but not hot.  You had a great day! Really enjoyed the parade especially all the bands and hanging out with Oma.  You are an adorable little dutch girl.  Too bad there were no tulips downtown to take your picture with. (The spring was too warm so they were in bloom weeks ago..)

kumkwats and teapots

Eating Kumkwats at Grandma's house on Sunday afternoon.

I think you liked them, at least you liked licking them.

Watching  "I'm a little teapot" videos with Aunt Kate.

"I'm a little teapot short and stout,"

"Here is my handle"

"Here is my spout"

"When I get all steamed up hear me shout,
Tip me over and pour me out."

Jackie, you love music, you love the band on Sunday Morning, you love any song with motions you just love music.  Right now your favorite songs are, Teapot, Head Shoulders knees and Toes, Isity Bisty Spider, and Wheels on the Bus.

Cleaning Legos

I would typically try to clean when Jacqueline is sleeping, but today Jackie helped me clean. Oma was found a set of Giant Legos at a garage sale and was nice enough to share them with us, they really needed a good scrubbing.  So since the weather was nice and warm we made cleaning the legos a game. I love the picture of her when we were done so proud of herself for getting all the legos scrubbed.  I will try to remember to pull out my camera when the legos get built into a tower or some-other cool creation. But today just cleaning them was a lot of fun.  I guess that's proof that Mary Poppens was right when she sang, "In every job that must be done There is an element of fun you find the fun and snap! The job's a game."

Zoo

Aunt Kelly got me a Zoo membership for my birthday this year so this was the first of what will hopefully be may trips to the zoo this year.

The weather was pretty good but you wore your rain coat just because it was still threatening to rain all day.  And it's a cute coat from Grandma. Your favorite part of the zoo was the waterfall outside the aquarium and the wave pool in the aquarium.  But the petting zoo was not open yet,  (May 12 it reopens for the season).  So that might be your favorite next time but this time we could only look not pet the animals.

There is a wooden train at the zoo that you could have played on all day long.  This is you at the end of the day holding on inside the caboose not wanting to go.  (While playing on the train you did stairs for the first time with out help.)  I think we will be sure to visit the train again next time we go to the zoo.  Thanks Aunt Kelly.
