Just not ready yet

Well we have been in and out of big girl underwear for two weeks so I thought with a little encouragement and a little push potty training would be easy... Boy was I wrong.  After a two long days and a few tears I have decided the three day training method is not for us, or Jackie is just not ready yet.  So we will wait maybe try again before the end of summer.

Growing BIG!

When Adam is out of town Jackie tends to get a new movie it really helps me get both girls to bed because it gives Jackie a quiet activity when I am putting Grace down.  Anyway this time she wanted Alice in Wonderland, I was skeptical but she loves it.  While we were watching she asked me "Doing" meaning what was happening and I explained that when Alice drank what was in the bottle she grew bigger.  Jackie instantly ran to our big ruler on the wall and stood against it "me bigger too, me growing big."  She was right she is almost up an inch from where she was at her birthday.
Grace is quickly out growing clothes too.  That has been a lot of fun for Jacqueline because as Grace outgrows clothes, Emma (Jackie's monkey) and Lydia (Grace's bunny) have been inheriting the hand-me-downs (adjusting some buttons on the old clothes is free and the build-a-bear outfits are kinda pricy so this has been great!)  Here is a picture of all my girls in outfits Jackie picked out for all of them. (P.S. Emma's new pink sandals were a gift from Grandma and Kate, you can tell Jackie picked them out, pink and sparkly, I don't know where she gets it from but her princess streak makes me laugh.)

 One more big moment... This is my big girl picking out a treat for using the big potty, still very hit and miss at our house some days are big underwear and some days are diapers, I have been letting her take the lead, eventually I think I will need to push a little but it is nice that on her own she is showing some interest in being potty trained.

Opa too

Jackie Rae only you could get Opa to dance.  A the pictures are from a few nights ago.  I had Grace to bed and Jackie in PJ's eating snack, all the sudden she need on Anastasia, a tutu and wings so that she could dance, right away she got Oma to dance.  It took a minute but caved when Jackie recited "Opa too, Opa too."  And away they danced.  I hope my girls realize how blessed they are to have amazing grandparents on both sides who love them and would do anything for them.

Grace 4 month stats

So it's hard to believe but Grace is taller and lighter then Jacqueline was at this age.  She is 26 inches (97%) and 12 pounds 13 ounces (25%).  Grace loves tub time, running and punching (help needed of course). She lights up when Jackie plays with her and is getting good at smiling for the camera.  Healthy, happy little squeaker.

Timber town/ fun with dad

 Adam has to leave for Chicago this weekend so before he went, we had some extra fun family time and headed out to timbertown to play and have a picnic lunch, that was followed by frozen yogurt with Papa downtown Holland.  Jackie loved the park we will have to go again.

Big Accomplishments this week!

SO many fun new things this week.  First Grace has started to take some naps in her crib.  She needs to have her owl blanket from Oma tucked in her arms to get to sleep and there is some fussing but it is nice to be able to put her down to sleep and at least occasionally have 2 hands.  Another big one for Grace, her first food was yesterday.  Poor girl was a little plugged so she got to try prunes for the first time yesterday, (that was Jackie's first food too, and for the same reason,(it did fix the problem.))

Jackie's big new thing is real UNDERWEAR!  She is by no means potty trained and I am waiting for a messy accident but she asked today if she could wear her big girl underwear.  We have been sitting on the potty and talking about it for a few weeks I planned on training her starting in 2 weeks but I am not going to stop her if she wants to take the lead.  She is normally better at things that are her idea.  We will see.  Still fun that the process has started.

I am so proud of both my girls but they seem to be growing up so fast.
