Playtime

So today was the first time Jacqueline really tried to play with Grace.  She shared all her little people and animals from her nativity set with Grace, telling grace who the people were and what noises the animals make.  Grace watched for a while, and then feel asleep with the camel.

So much fun to watch them interact.  It makes me smile.

2 week stats

2 weeks have flown by.  Grace is up to a huge 7 lbs 4oz already!  She is defiantly a good little eater. Her 2 week doctors apt. went really well.
I wanted to take a moment and talk about your name.   Grace your middle name Frances, comes from my Great-Aunt Fran (The picture is of you with Aunt Fran, she is 93!).  She was so excited to get to hold you last week. I have written to Jacqueline about Aunt Fran before, so I will be brief, but Aunt Fran is my mom's, Aunt, (she is Grandpa Don's older sister.)  When I was a kid I remember staying over at Aunt Fran's house and always thinking how elegant and special Fran was. So when we found out we were having a second little girl I knew I wanted your middle name to be Frances, in honor of Aunt Fran.  So that left us to figure out your first name.  Grace is from your Dad's family.  Your Oma Karie's mom was Grace. Unfortunately, she passed away long ago so your dad doesn't have any memories of her he can share, but knowing the kids she raised including your Oma, she must have been a very special lady.  I love that your name comes from both families, and I am so glad that you will have a chance to know at least one of your namesakes.

Squeaker

I thought Grandma and Grandpa would need a photo since they are gone to Florida, so here is a picture of squeaker for you both.  Hope you have lots of fun and enjoy the sunshine.
Jacqueline had the nickname  peanut since before she was born and still to this day is my peanut, (sometimes I call her peanut pie, daddy sticks with peanut.) So it would not seem right to call Grace peanut too.  I was not sure what Grace's nickname would be but it became clear right away Squeaker would be her name.  Grace squeaks more then she cries.  Her cute little squeaks let me know when she is hungry but she also squeaks in her sleep.

Grace 1 week

We had a doctors office visit today, and Grace is doing Amazing.  I wondered if she would need Vitamin D drops (like Jackie did) for Jaundice but she good with out them, (wonderful since the drops made Jackie spit up yellow on everything).  Grace has almost gained back her birth weight she is currently 6lbs 12ozs a big accomplishment they would not have expected her to regain birth weight till the two week mark. Also the pediatricians office measured her at 20 3/4inches, (they think that the hospital may have miss-measured her and she was longer at birth than they thought.)

Well, this first week has been a blur.  A wonderful blur... but I feel like my head is spinning.  The adjustment from one kiddo to two is great but hard.  The kids have been great but I have found a new form of mommy guilt.  I worry about Jacqueline feeling left out especially when I am feeding Grace.  I feel guilty about Grace not getting as much attention as Jacqueline did.  In general, I worry.  But I keep trying to remind myself that worry is worthless and that I am blessed with two wonderful little girls.  Yesterday as I put Jackie down for nap, she insisted that Grace read books with us instead of continuing to nap in the living room.  So with Grace in one arm I read Jacqueline devotions and three books like always, she laid her head on my lap as we read.  As I sat there reading all I could think was what a perfect moment, both little girls snuggled in tight on the verg of peaceful sleep.  What could be better.  I had to fight back tears of joy knowing that Jacqueline would not understand good tears and she would be worried.

Grace is Here

Ok so I am behind on posting Grace Frances Meeuswen arrived on Feb 14, 2013 at 12:46.  She came in at 19 inches long, 6lbs 13ozs.  We are home and all doing well.  I would write more but I think my moment of biss where both girls were sleeping is over.  So I will let the pictures show how cute she is and how much we all are in love.

Aladdin "A whole new World"

For a while we were stuck on Elmo, then Tangeled, but for the moment Jacqueline is content with any movie as long as they "ting" the more singing the better, so Kate brought over Aladdin.  I will let the video speak for itself.

Bed Rest

On Wednesday I had a doctors appointment and a few things were a little off so I was told to rest for a few days take Friday off work and come in again.  Thankfully rest worked wonders and everything seems to be doing well, baby Grace is doing great, so I am stuck on bed rest till she decides to come into the world.  There was some talk on Wednesday about inducing and or c-section but now that rest is working it looks like we will be letting Grace choose her own birthday.  SO, trying to rest while trying to play with Jacqueline.  She has been wonderful, we have done a lot of crafts playing on the floor, blocks and puzzles.  Hopefully Grace will come soon, I can get back some energy and we all can play together.

Fashion and 22 months

Jacqueline is constantly wanting to be more and more independent.  She wants to do herself.  So this sunday she picked out her own clothes a little mismatched but darn cute.

She was in such a good mood this morning that I decided we would go ahead and take 22 month photos just because she was so smily.  But she really wanted bubba (the moose) in the photos with her.  She also had to have my scarf before we could take photos.
