A little bit of Rae

Jackie Rae there are moments when you remind me of Grandma Jackie like when you got me with a water balloon today, but most of the time what I see in you is a little bit of Rae.  Your Great Grandma Audrey Rae loved clothes, and so do you both of you like a little bit of sparkle a little ruffle and a great pair of shoes.  This touch of girly glits did not come from me it is from her, it's a little bit of Rae shining through.  I also see her in your personality, you have a compassionate heart and a love for others.  I love you and am so proud of you.

Grace I love you so much too.  You are defiantly becoming an individual as well.  You watch everything that Jackie does, she makes you laugh harder then anyone else can.  How blessed I am to have you both.

First movie

Friday this week Jackie got to go to the theater for the first time.  Kate took her to see Despicable Me 2,  or " minions" as Jackie calls it.  She was so excited to go, here is her and Kate before they left.
Jackie had to dress like a princess to go to the movie.  At the movie Kate treated her to popcorn and lemonade in a special Turbo cup, (Turbo is a kids movie coming out later this summer.)
Although, she did not make it all the way until the end of the movie she had a blast.  Thanks Kate

While Jackie was at the movie, Grace got to try the jump up for the first time, ( Jackie loved this so much when she was little).  Grace was still a little small for it but that didn't stop her from having a great time jumping.  By the afternoon both girls were completely wore out and took awesome naps.

5 months

Grace at 5 months old you love when people make silly faces, you like to play with plastic rings, you really like swimming, you are a hot box and so the hot humid weather is tough for you.  You are getting  Big so fast.

Play Pin

What do you do when you are bored at our house... there are two main answers we either head outside,
(this picture is from our walk this evening before bed, we were looking for wildflowers and big holes) or we "pay pin" as Jackie would say.  This mean that we find some craft or recipe on my pintrest to make or bake.  In this heat and humidity we have been trying not to bake so we have been busy crafting.

I have never really liked the fixtures in the new house.  When Aaron was in town he fixed the worst two replacing bronze chandeliers with my mason jar lights that I love. We have also swapped the light in the master bedroom, so Jackie and I decided to tackle her room and Grace's.

So this is what the lights in both girls rooms looked like before, not terrible but not great.  I was not a huge fan of the design on the glass and I felt like they made the light in the room a little yellow.

This is the new light in Jackies room, she helped a lot.  She did all the paint and helped with the crumpling.  It is just coffee filters and cupcake liners, but I think it looks like a big pink carnation.  I think it fits her room and her personality a little better then the old light and softens the light in her room.

And the new light in Grace's room.  I wanted them to be different but was stuck for ideas so we pulled out Jackies favorite crafting tool, my stampin-up punches and started popping little flowers.  All and all very happy with the new lights in both girls rooms.  Jackie is quite proud of both projects and really helped a lot which made these fun to do plus they kept us busy during the hottest part of two very warm days.
